15 Uplifting Bible Verses about Hope and God’s Promises

We often use the word hope in a way that makes it interchangeable with a wish. I could say, “I hope it doesn’t rain today” or “I hope we have a fun vacation.” These statements express a sincere wish, but they may or may not come true.

Hope in the Bible is different. Biblical hope is more than a wish; it’s a promise. We are promised hope, and we are assured the promise will be fulfilled.

The Bible is a book of hope. In Genesis 3, we were given the first promise – hope of redemption that one day the seed of the woman would crush the serpent.

Hope has a powerful impact on our thinking and mindset. Hope gives us courage and strength we might not have thought we had.
