Genesis 21:22 God is with you

God is with you

In today’s verse, we have a quote from the Philistine king. This verse is a statement of recognition of God’s power and blessing on Abraham.

God is with you in all that you do.

Genesis 21:22

Here in Genesis, Abimelech, the Philistine king, professes God’s providence in Abraham’s life and blessing on him. In the next verses, Abimelech is seeking a peace treaty because he doesn’t want trouble or to be on the bad side of Abraham’s God.

Why did Abimelech say this about Abraham? Because Abimelech acknowledged Abraham was different and God was protecting him. Abraham was a light in the world of darkness.

This verse reminds us to live our lives so that others can see God in us and the blessings He is providing us. And we can also be a light in the darkness.

As you go through your day, consider each choice and how it shows others you are living for God and the impact he has in your life.
