I John 4:13 God is love

How many times have you heard someone say, “But God is love”? And you know that are trying to use this quote as a way to justify actions or beliefs the Bible clearly says are sin.

In I John 4, the Apostle John writes about God’s love and how can know we have been saved. Verses 13-15 explain we have been given the Holy Spirit, the apostles have seen and testified of Jesus as Savior.

We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

I John 4:13

Then in verse 16, John writes about faith and belief. God is love and God’s love lives within those who believe in Him.

How can we show our love for God? In John 15:12-14, Jesus says to love one another as Jesus loved us. The greatest love is a lay down your life for a friend.

Jesus showed us the greatest example of love when he gave his life to pay the debt for our sins. Since we have been given this great gift of love, we show our faith by loving others.

Look for the simple but meaningful ways you can show love to others today by easing their burdens.
