Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord

Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord

How does God change us? How does God make us a new creation as mentioned in II Corinthians 5:17?

Isaiah 55 looks to a time in the future when God will redeem his people through Jesus. God promises to make an everlasting covenant.

Seek the LORD while he may be found.

Call on him while he is near.

Isaiah 55:6

God changes us as we seek him and learn to be more like him. What are some ways we can seek him?

First, we can read the Bible daily. As we study the Bible, we learn more about God’s character and nature. As we understand God, we know more about right and wrong, and how we should live and treat others.

Second, we can pray. God wants us to seek him through prayer. As we pray, God speaks to our hearts and guides us. Prayer can bring peace and comfort to the brokenhearted.

Third, we can memorize scripture. Having God’s Word in your heart and mind significantly impacts us. It changes how we think and our worldview. Memorized scripture affects our thinking and if we allow God to work in us it will affect our decisions and thinking.

Fourth, we can seek God with godly friends. Our friends can influence who we are and what we think and do. Godly friends will help you walk in faith and seek the Lord.

Fifth, we can seek God in how we live. We can apply the teachings we learn from studying the Bible, recognize the imprint God leaves on our hearts through prayer, the reflection of memorized scripture, and the impact of godly friends.

God is near to those who call on him and seek him. God didn’t bring you to where you are now to leave you. God longs to have a relationship with you and change you to be more like him.
