Jeremiah 29:11 God has plans for you

Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you

When we think about the future, we usually think of good things. Things we would like to do, places to go, and the person we want to become. But more than all that you want to do, God has plans for you, too.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

This verse was written to the Jews when they were in Babylonian captivity. They must have been sad and defeated. Then Jeremiah comes with a word from God that says he has not forsaken them and the time of trouble will come to an end after 70 years.

Just as God had a plan for the Jews to escape Babylon, he has a plan for you, too. It may be hard to see the plan today or make sense of the plan, but he does have a plan. It’s a plan you can trust. His plan is for peace and not evil, a new hope and a new future.

Similar to yesterday’s verse Jeremiah 31:34, this verse not only addressed the immediate situation, but it also looked forward to a time when Jesus would come. Jesus is the ultimate hope and the future.

You can trust God each day and each week seeking His plan and knowing that God is with you and his plan for you is better than anything you could dream or hope.
