Matthew 6:25-26 – God Cares for You

Matthew 6:25-26

In our homeschool, I give my children weekly Bible verses to study and memorize. This year I have focused on themes and sometimes passages to memorize. For the last few weeks of school, I choose Matthew 6:24-33 as our verses.

I chose these verses because I want the kids to know how much God, the heavenly Father, cares for them and how he will take care of their needs. Today’s verse is Matthew 6:25-26 focusing on how God cares for the birds and meets all their needs, and our value to God is much more than birds.

Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds in the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather in barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value that they?

Matthew 6:25-26

These verses remind us that not only does the God of the universe, creator of all things, take care of the birds, he takes care of you and places great value on you today.

No matter what you worry is today, God is able to meet your need.

He is the great physician that heals (Jeremiah 30:17).

He can provide for all your physical needs, because he owns everything (Psalm 50:10).

He sustains all things (Hebrews 1:3).

He meets our greatest need, he forgives our sins (I John 1:9).

God knows all the details of what your need today and he cares about the small stuff.

Call on Jesus and claim the promise that he cares you and wants to meet all your needs today.
