Yesterday, I opened my Bible and the first passage I saw was Micah 6. The chapter starts with a beautiful explanation of God’s faithfulness and care for his people.
In verse 8, we come to short question and response, what is required of you?
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
I love this verse because of it’s simplicity. Three things we need to do: act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God.
To act justly means to treat others fairly with honesty and integrity.
To love mercy accept the grace God has given to us and then show this grace to others every day. Praise God for all he has given to us.
To walk humbly with God reminds us not to boast in ourselves for the goodness God has given us. To also be sensitive to God’s guidance and direction in our lives.
If we lived these 3 principles each day, what a difference we could make in the lives of people close to us and our communities.
