This week, I’ll be sharing 5 blessings from the Bible with you.
Years ago, a pastor at our church would always end the service with Bible verse blessing. These Bible verses became some of my favorite verses and powerful reminders of how much God cares for us.
Today’s verse starts out calling on the “The Lord” and some Bibles translate these words as Yahweh or Jehovah. The name means Lord or Master. It’s God’s proper name.
In the Old Testament, this name spoke of God’s power and it caused fear in the hearts of the enemies of Israel.
But here in Numbers 6, we find a blessing. Calling on God by his most personal and proper name comes this request:
The Lord bless you, and keep you, The Lord make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you, The Lord lift up his face toward you and give you peace.Numbers 6:24-26
God spoke to Moses and told him to have Aaron and his sons bless the people. God himself provided the words for this prayer and blessing.
Let these words sink in today. Claim this blessing today and dwell on the blessing of God’s presence and peace in your life.
