Psalm 103:12 – Forgiven

Psalm 103:12 forgiveness

The Christian faith is more than just believing in Jesus and going to heaven at the end of your life.

The Christian receives benefits in this life, too, including being forgiven of all your sins – past, present and future. At the cross, Jesus paid penalty for all our sins. In Christ, we live a life that’s been forgiven.

But one of the side effects of sin is guilt. If we allow ourselves to dwell on sin and past mistakes, the guilt can overwhelming. But living a life with guilt is not what God wants for you. He has forgiven you.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12

When God forgives our sins, he forgets them and removes them from us. According to this verse as far as the east is from the west. Did you know if start off traveling east and could continue around the globe, you would always be going east? That’s not true about north and south. If you traveled south, eventually you would come to point where you crossed the end of the earth and you continued traveling the direction would change to north.

God wants us to know our sins and the guilt from sin is gone if you are his children and have asked forgiveness. Jesus gives us the greatest freedom – freedom from sin, guilt and shame.

If you feel guilt from your sin today, it’s time to lay your burden down. Call on God to forgive you and to give you peace. Then trust in the promise from the One who is always faithful to his promises that you have been forgiven.
