Psalm 34:4 The Lord delivers us from fear

Psalm 34:4 The Lord delivers us

Psalm 34 is a wonderful chapter to read when your heart is heavy and you feel overwhelmed by fear. The title of this chapter is “The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God.” Throughout this chapter, David writes about calling on the Lord and the Lord’s response.

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 34:4

When we are afraid, David sought the Lord and the Lord delivered him from his fear. Throughout the book Psalms we find that David must have suffered with anxiety as he wrote many Psalms calling on the Lord for help and praying for deliverance.

Fear paralyzes us. When we are afraid, we find it hard to make decisions and we worry that we will make the wrong decisions.

Let’s look at Psalm 34. Here are 7 additional promises of deliverance and help in this chapter.

In verse 7, the Angel of the Lord is with those who fear God and will deliver them.

In verse 9, it says to fear the Lord because there is no want for those who fear him.

In verse 15, the Lord is watching over the righteous and he hears their cries.

In verse 16, the face of the Lord is against those who do evil and their memory will be removed from the earth.

In verse 17, the righteous call for help and will be heard.

In verse 18, the Lord is near to those with a broken heart.

In verse 22, the Lord redeems the righteous, none of those who trust him will be condemned.

Realize that when fear overcomes you, the Lord is with you. You can call out for help anytime and he hears you. He is providing protection to you.

The Lords want to provide you comfort, assurance and peace today. Trust him.
