Psalm 51:10 A New Heart

Psalm 51:10

On January 1st, we start a new year. For many of us, we think January 1st is a new slate. We can move away from the past and look to the future. We have a fresh start.

In Psalm 51, a heartbroken David is asking God to forgive his sin with Bathsheba. The focus of the Psalm is David’s request for God to give him a new, clean heart.

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

As you look at each day this year, ask God to create a new heart in you. A heart that is more like Jesus every day.

It won’t always be easy. It won’t always happen the way you want.

Make a note today and consider what is happening in your life. As you pray this verse, look back each month and each year to see how far you have come and how you are more like Jesus each day.
