Jeremiah 31:34 I will remember their sins no more

Jeremiah 31:34 He remembers their sins no more.

Jeremiah 31 is a favorite passage in the Old Testament. Starting in verse 31, God promises to make a new covenant with his people, have new plans, forgive their sins, and remember them no more.

The Old Testament prophets knew a Messiah was coming and he would change everything.

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Jeremiah 31:34

This verse gives us a preview of the New Testament covenant. A covenant not written on stone tablets, but written on our hearts.

Through Jesus, this verse is fulfilled. The Holy Spirit dwells in us and writes the words of God in our hearts. Words that change us and make us more like Christ.

But there’s more, God forgives our sins and remembers them no more. No matter what sin or temptation you are struggling with today, Jesus can forgive you and take away your guilt. You have a new start and a new beginning in Christ.
