We’ve all had times and events in life when we wish we had more knowledge and wisdom to make a better decision.
Here’s a simple example that recently happened to me. I visited my local cell phone store to update our cell phone service. This, of course, involved updating the service, the phones and accessories.
Choosing a service plan and phones wasn’t too difficult, but then I decided to add the accessories at the phone store. This is was my mistake. I didn’t check the prices before shopping so I trusted the store was offering comparable prices to other retailers (I sort of thought they were overpriced but I didn’t check my instinct).
As I look back, I wish I had more information to make a better decision. I might have saved a few dollars. The good news is the Bible tells us that having true wisdom is more valuable than silver or gold.
Many of our life’s decisions are more important than cell phone service and accessories and that’s why I’m thankful that God values wisdom. God wants us to have wisdom so we can make better decisions.
Wisdom is something we can learn each day with Bible study and reflection. Once we have wisdom, it’s value is more than gold and silver.
How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
