Zephaniah 3:17 – God is with you

Zephaniah 3:17 - God is with you

I remember when I first heard the promise of this verse. It was back before the adoption of our son. As you wait for approval and finalization of adoption, you have a sense of uncertainty and worry about what might happen and so many what if’s that all new moms experience.

During those days of worry, I remember this verse was shared with me:

Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you with his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

Every word in this verse is so meaningful and has an amazing promise.

God is a among you (with you personally). This promise alone is enough, but there’s more.

He is strong and he will save you. He will fight for you. When the circumstances are outside your control, they are not out of God’s control.

Then God, the great I AM, will calm you with his love and rejoice over you with singing and joy.

What an amazing promise and blessing you can claim today.

  1. I’m sure, second to John 3:16, Zephanaiah 3:17 is my new favorite! I just LOVE this.scriptiure! It has led me to do my next personal Bible Study time (my daily ‘Jesus Time’!) focus on the significance to God, of singing. How important is it to Him that we sing or sing praises to Him.

I’m enjoying it so far! Thank you for posting such a beautiful picture of this verse.

Also, if you are not already familiar with the translation, my sister (who worships in a Mesianic churh with a Messianic Rabi), loves TLV (Tree of Life version) for Bible reading/study. I’ll include it here.

Adonai your God is in your midst—
    a mighty Savior!
He will delight over you with joy.
He will quiet you with His love.
He will dance for joy over you with singing.’

I just love using various translations to better understand scripture, it makes is so much richer and provides a much fuller understanding! I had not yet seen the one you used. I suspect World English Study (WEB)?

Thank you so much for your efforts. God bless you in them, He has blessed me this morning in your post. (even if at 2am!)
